❤ You and Me ❤

It all began in 1992, the story of me and you.

It was as if God had brought us together at this specific time and place

He is the one who brought us face to face.

A love at first sight we did share,

Of nothing else did we have a care.

We had such fun, we were so happy,

Twenty years went by like this,

Twenty years of love and bliss.

We had some children, a girl then a boy,

Of motherhood I felt so much joy.

You actually saved my life as our marriage began, I was going down a dark road, but when we married light entered and soon that way of my life grew old.

So, in the years that followed I was by your side, through all life sent our way.

More good than bad, I can honestly say.

The demons of your childhood started showing the last decade we were together, nothing I could say or do could change your view.

What started as a life "till death we do part", the last decade kept tearing off pieces of my heart.

I stayed, I tried with all of my strength,

To save you and what we once had.

For years we struggled until my heart told me to leave.

You had found something to relieve your pain, no matter how hard I tried, it was all in vain.

Our 30 years together came to an end,

After grieving for years, there wasn't a way for our hearts to mend.

The devastation of your loss at times is unbearable, God took you home to end the suffering you endured all your life.

I'm left here alone a place in my heart is always yours, I know you at long last have the comfort, the love and the peace that your heart so deserves.
