Where on earth does time fly to? does somebody fritter it all away?
Stacking each one of those single seconds up, at that end of every day
Beg, steal or borrowing the future, much to our dismay
Oh if only time would slow down, Huh this is what I always say
One minute it is that first thing in the morning, on the colourful crack of dawn
When I am opening up my curtains, looking out at the view with a sleepy stretch and a yawn
Then I suddenly notice what time it is on the clock, and without any word or pre-warn
That daylight is fading fast and it is time once again, to get my curtains drawn
Why then I cannot help but wondering, does time go so fast?
All that we are left with are those priceless, precious memories, hoping that they will last
From that time that passed up by, all of those yesterdays of our past
Leaving each and every one of us that are getting longer in the tooth, befuddled and aghast…

Literary Review of "Time Flies"
Reviewer: Cijo Joseph Chennelil Kuravilangad
Jill Tait Ji,
Your poem titled " Time Flies " is a poem that states the obvious in no uncertain terms regarding the passage of time in a double quick manner. Time is a passing phenomenon and it waits for none. It is also the most precious aspect of life because our life is modulated every time under its influence only. Time is something that we await and we waste in equal measure. It is the most orderly thing for the institutionalised class but it is a bottleneck for the free wheeling and no holds barred sort of individuals in this world. Sometimes, we run after it and other times we fear to tread with it. It consumes us, drains us and stretches us but it also brings rich tidings to us as well. Time doesn't allow us to take a lethargic attitude towards anything in life. It ushers in sunrise and twilight hour within the span of 24 hours. It takes us for a ride to glory and despair as well. It is an unstoppable reality we need to contend with in terms of our life. It gives us good memories and despondencies at the same time. It determines our births and deaths as and when they do take place. Yes, of course, time does have a total ramification in terms of our life from cradle to the grave or from the beginning to the end. Kudos to you for composing such a poem of outstanding nature.
