The Polinator of My Soul: Jackie Shaffer

Updated: Oct 26, 2023

Basking subdued in my tranquil garden

Rocking chair cradling my tortured soul

Rays of light peaking through timbers softly

Shadows resting, taking leisurely stroll

Sipping steaming earthy fragrant coffee

Classicals flowing on soft-wind, extended paned glass door

Feelings of loneliness, sneaking through so quietly, …hush…….

Cold shoulder, trying to ignore

Mind relaxing, insufflating scented treasures

Body renewing, decompressing, surrender

Ensconced by petals, exquisite aromatics

Gods grandeur ascending from jewel to jewel

Beauteous pollinators drawn to light and hue

From worm like larva to silky cocoon

Transparent stained glass wings

Among all others, majestic kings

Kaleidoscope of multifarious colors

Tasting sweet nectar, fluctuating flutters

Forward leaning as Monarch alights on yellow milkweed blossoms

Taking to air, ensurement, necessary caution

Gentle fingers, enfolding silkiness of velvet petal

Fragile, unfolding, quiescent nesting palm

Tortured self forgotten, restful, sweetly calm

Ingesting the paradise of my garden

Weariness leaving my soul

Gods majesty abounding

Surrounded by lovely

No more insulating

Psychological control
