I invite you to join the perfect women's club.
The application is sitting on the desk.
The following will not determine acceptance:
Weight, height, age,
skin or hair color
Certainly not breast size or body shape.
Education will make little difference unless it's used wisely.
Best of all there is no one to compete with,
acceptance is almost always guaranteed.
What are we looking for you might ask?
Have you cried?
Have you laughed?
Does your heart possess the capacity for love?
Do you sing along with the radio?
Have you smiled, really smiled?
Have some of your dreams come true?
Are there still dreams waiting to unfold?
You can be shy or outgoing.
You don't have to be anyone but yourself.
Flaws are important,
they are what make you unique.
You can have doubts or confidence.
It’s okay if you are forward or reserved.
You don’t have to be your best self every day.
It's okay if you have failed.
You can be proud of all you have accomplished.
Are you still smiling?
It's even okay if you are crying,
you just have to be you.
No need to change for anyone.
If you want to change that’s okay.
You will reinvent yourself many times.
Our members won’t see imperfections,
Because only you can do you.
So welcome and congratulations!
You are now a proud member,
of the Perfect Women's Club.

Bio:
Richard Lamoureux Lives in Beautiful British Columbia Canada, on the shores of Lake Okanagan. He’s happily married for 30 years to his sweetie Mary. Their son Matthew, wife Harleen and grandson Benjamin live close by.
Richard loves spending time with family and friends. He is passionate about writing and connecting with other writers. For fun he plays and coaches pickleball. He also plays tennis, hikes, bikes and swims. When him and his wife retire next year, they will have more time to travel.
Richard’s first published book “Dummy, Hurtful and Healing Words” is now in second print and continues to be well received. Through writing his book he has experienced healing. Through interactions with readers, Richard has learned about their healing journeys. Richard tends to write about social issues and many of my poems deal with human rights. He has personal written over 5000 pieces. He didn’t realize that he had so much to say. His hope is that both people who regularly read poetry as well as those who don’t will be able to connect with what he writes.
A bit about Richard’s professional life. During his career he worked in Communications, Banking, Human Resources and the Financial side of the Luxury Automotive Market. He has also worked as a Sales Trainer and Consultant to assist companies in improving their people performance. Considering his difficult start in life and his early academic challenges, he’s thankful to have had a rich and interesting career. As writers we can imagine and achieve what our hearts desire. He’s glad he didn’t lack imagination. He’s also thankful for the people who have helped him along the way. No one succeeds on their own. His wife, family and friends are a big part of who he is.
