She Walks Beside Troubled Water

Updated: Mar 19

She walks beside troubled water

But only sees tranquility

Love’s ripples upon reflection

Keep her lonely heart company

The river in diamond glimmer

Cuts a ravine through rambling land

The troubled water rises up

As if to hold her trembling hand

She feels the river’s strong heartbeat

Following along her life trail

And though its waves seem turbulent

Its good intentions calm the vale

She walks beside troubled water

Though its roiled ruckus shows distress

She feels a soft, calmer current

Protecting her with gentleness

Deep and blue in its mystery

A roused redeemer as her guide

The wry river makes her shiver

For her own soul lives inside
