REMEMBER ME

Through a world of chaos noise and hurry

A soul seeks solace a momentary lull.

Through the bustling streets and crowded byways

Echoes of a whisper a plea "Remember me."

With each passing face a story unfolds

Layers of emotions waiting to be told.

A smile a tear a longing deep within

A fragile existence a love that's ever been.

In the laughter of children I'll vibrant and free

In the tears of the weary seeking to be seen

In the steps of the wanderer searching for a home

In the heart of it all, "Remember me" they intone.

For life can be fleeting slipping through our grasp

Like sand in an hourglass moving oh so fast.

We weave our tapestry each stitch a cherished thread

Leaving footprints behind, as memory is once spread.

Remember me not for wealth or worldly gain

But for the laughter shared the love that remained.

For the moments we held hands clasped tight

For the kindness we sowed spreading like starlight.

In the whispers of the wind and the songs of the sea

In the sunsets ablaze with colors painting memories

In the quiet of night when the world is asleep

In every breath we take remember me ever so deep.

So when my time comes as all must one day

May my name not be forgotten as shadows sway.

Let my legacy be kindness compassion and grace

And in each beating heart a trace of my embrace.

Remember me not with tears of sorrow or despair

But with joyful memories like flowers in the air.

For I am but a soul on this earthly plane

A mere flicker of existence seeking to remain.

In the tapestry of life let my presence shine

A thread of love and hope forever intertwined.

Remember me dear world long after I'm gone

In the echoes of stories and in your hearts live on.

Literary Review/Analysis

By: Cijo Joseph Chennelil

Babawo Yakubu Ji,

Your poem titled " Remember Me " is a poem that brings into the forefront many vibes of multifarious kinds. An oasis in the desert feeling is sought because in the cluttered environment of the world, the clear stream of reason is lost in the wilderness. As the intricate layers of life are laid bare, a love of delicate pedigree is unveiled. The mixture of joys and sorrows in a domestic setting is widely pursued. In this quicksand world, each one goes for the legacy that is to be left behind in the annals of history. The concepts of humility and humanity are given prominence because instead of worldly possessions, the principles of compassion, collective consciousness and unblemished joy are to get priority in life. The individual concerned here wants to be remembered for positive vibes rather than negative wavelengths. The memories of him/her should be surrounded with resplendent humanitarian sentiments than anything else. The human existence here is so short, so live a life of contentment and satisfaction rather than an acrimonious one. The poem sums up the emotions of brotherhood, tolerance and universal consciousness at the end of it all. Kudos to you for composing such a poem of outstanding nature.
