For it was dark that gave might.
Yet it was power that gave light.
Amongst the stars she was grown.
Possessing a beauty never known.
Lost within depths without sight.
An existence cursed he would fight.
Without purpose they would roam.
Until fated embrace upon cold stone.
Two beings that met soon became one.
That of the darkness and That of the sun.
It's the love of equals without pawn.
May we soar with the eagles and love like the dawn.
Yet within our cosmic sway that which is risen finds dismay.
So unfortunately, shall we be like summer leaves upon the tree.
Soon no more to be as strewn neath hurried feet
If within you find fright in an abyss of boundless plight.
Know that within me you shall reside in every abyss through every tide.
Until that moment we meet again whether as enemy or as friend.
This is a love that defies an end for it is that of which was before that which begins.

Bio (By Author):
My name is Derek Morris. I am a 31 year old father, small business starter, free thinker, and above all else, I am an individual student. I am 1 of 12 kids that my mother and step father raised in a little oil patch ghost town in the panhandle of Oklahoma. We built the house I grew up in over the course of 10 years and raised our own food when I was younger. They understandably got tired of the added hassle. I have lived coast to coast where I learned to appreciate the lows and recognize the highs for what they are. I love poetry and everything that has to do with raw unfiltered emotion.
