Have you ever thanked your Mom for all the things she has done?
Her unconditional love shone bright
Even when she was always on the run!
Have you ever thanked your Dad for the umpteen sacrifices he made?
Hailstorms and blizzards, defiantly he faced
On seeing you sad or afraid!
Have you ever thanked your pets for wagging their tails, licking your face?
Your whines and tantrums, they endured
Just to occupy in your heart, that special place!
Have you ever thanked God for bringing you into this world?
Letting you experience joys and sorrows
Teaching you the fact that it's okay to be flawed!
Have you ever thanked yourself for surviving every single day?
Amidst blinding smog and thunderstorms
Tussling yet figuring out a way!
