No Matter What

On the day when the entire world celebrates love, this year will not be the same,

I will be thinking of you, knowing you are no longer in pain.

I want to ask God why he took you from us so soon,

After losing such a beautiful soul, I am left broken and confused.

You were my “no matter what” and I was yours,

We were the only ones who understood what the other endured.

I will be forever grateful for the time I got to spend with you,

For true friendship like ours was rare in this life we must all go through.

Valentine’s Day can be for both lovers and friends,

I will celebrate your life as I am thankful to have known you until the end.

With all the beauty blooming in the air this month surrounded by pretty colors,

I will be honoring your memory as the one who would always be there for others.

You will eternally hold a special place in my heart,

Our friendship was a bond where the light conquered the dark.

I am beyond blessed for the moments I got to share with you,

Knowing you for the time I did was truly a dream come true.
