Hiding in her lair
With snakes in her hair
Better beware
If you stop and stare
With a yearning glare
Facing the unknown
You will be turned into stone
Even if you cut off her head
She will be a weapon
Long after she is dead
Such a primordial force
Even the Gods were jealous
Envious of her beauty of-course
Seduced by Poseidon
Led to chaos and destruction
embodying the untamed
With a legendary name
Monster and myth
Desirable creature
With ornate moving features
Adorning Athena’s shield
Warding off others
With an unpredictable petrifying gaze
danger and devastation
For the rest of her days
