By: Robert Celles
The sky was dark with melancholy,
Alone I cried unabashedly,
Under the shadow of the leafless trees,
Nowhere in sight to touch and see.
I sat and pondered on an empty bench,
When the rain poured down and I was drenched,
Tears from heaven consoled my soul,
I was deeply hurting out of control.
Gone are the days of the warm sunshine,
That enlivens our days by the hour,
No more buzzing bees and butterflies,
In a wonderland we once called paradise.
Where are the green leaves of summer?
The tree trunks now being bald and bare,
Without the bright sun that shows its face,
Our kingdom will be a lonesome place.
Spring will come we just wait and see,
Where the sun will boost the greening trees,
And on their branches these days of spring,
All the hummingbirds again will sing.
