Emptiness permeates
the blank space
Like words that are devoid
of any meaning
Wandering thoughts like
hazy clouds
That though heavy brings
no real rain.
The heart palpitates yet
feels no pain
Empty of emotions like
an empty train
Running through a long
and open rail
Brings no reason why
it should stay.
The emptiness in our
wordly lives
Has given many a man
so much pain
Though rich with earthly
material gains
Feels a deep void, an
emptiness within
Seeks the pleasures of
life, be entertained.
Yet there is that empti-
ness like a shadow
That follows even when
he is sleepin'
A ghost that hounds, keep-
ing him awake
Until he begins day dream-
ing of a life fulfilled
But was never realized,
'twas just a dream.
Until he found the love of a
God he has almost forgot'n
Where there was once an
emptiness within
Now, it's filled with joy, peace and love that only God can give.
