When I chose you, it didn’t feel like a choice
My heart heralded your arrival in beating voice
Then laid down its seeker’s crown in recognition
Insistent in its position, posed to respect
Your smile’s beguiling pleasantry, mine to accept
The addictive chemistry in your refined kiss
Tastes of renewal wine, from warm gauntlet lips
I thirstily drink in your lavish affection
My tongue savors your flavor as a felicitous host
An ethereal entity, a playful dancing ghost
You are a soft melody that lilts inside of me
A long-lost song stuck on play, repeatedly
Where the chorus sings a passionate portrayal
Yet the lyrics change in persuasion of the day
To accommodate our emotional foray
In communion, within my temple of thoughts
I embrace the beauty of your love’s proven loft
Your spirit lifts, deliberately decorated
In loving colors that soar for impressive view
These bedecked expectations enticed me to you
